The Boris Said Biography and History of Boris Said

Boris said was born in New York, New York on September 18, 1962. Currently Boris Said lives in Carlsbad, California. His father Bob Said, was a Formula 1 racer, and was an Olympic Bobsled driver for the US.

Boris said began his career racing Motorcycles, and his first automobile race was in 1985, at the Detroit Grand Prix.

In 1987, Boris Said began racing with the SCCA, Boris finally got his big racing break in 1991, where he would be racing for Baer Racing in the SCCA World Challenge.

In 1993 Boris would drive a BMW M3, for the IMSA.

In 1997, managed to win the 24 hours of Daytona.

In 1998, Boris took another win at the 24 hours of Daytona, and also won at the 12 hours of Sebring race.

In 2002, Boris Said substituted for MB2/MBV Motorsports, and started on the pole position, and finished in 6th place at Sears Point.

Nascar History

Boris first debuted in the Nascar Crafstman Truck series in 1995, the first race he ran, was at Sears Point International Raceway, a road course. Unfortunately due to engine woes, Boris finished the event in 24th place

In the year of 1996, Boris Said made a total of three Nascar Craftsman Truck Series starts and had a high finish of 13th place!

In 1997, Boris said earned a full time Nascar Craftsman Truck Series, he would go on to drive the number 44 federated Auto parts Ford. He finished 16th in the final points standing.

1998 was a better year for Boris, he took his first win in the Truck series at a race at Sears Point. He would also get his first pole in the Nascar Craftsman Truck series, by taking the pole position at Heartland Park Topeka. In the same year he also made his Busch series debut at another road course in the nascar schedule, Watkins Glen. He took the pole, but wound up finishing in 40th place.

The next year, 1999, Boris would only run six Truck races. He would start on the pole at Portland and Topeka. Boris did make his Winston Cup (now called Nextel Cup) debut at Watkins glen, Boris led a total of nine laps before engine troubles took him out of the running. Later in the year, he raced at Homestead Miami speedway, but had a finishing position of 34th.

In 2000, Boris Said finished in 15th place at Portland in the truck Series. He would then finish in 30th place at the California Speedway. After that, he finished 42nd at Infineon speedway in the Winston Cup series.

The following year, 2001, Boris Said showed his strengths at road course racing, and finished 4th at Watkins Glen in a Busch series car.

In 2002 he would race several races for Jasper Motor sports.

He would have another strong showing in 20004, at a different road course this time, Infineon, and finished in 6th place driving the number 36 Centrux financial Chevrolet.

In 2005 Boris Said would run a total of 9 races and his best finishing position was a 3rd place at Watkins Glen. He would run the road course race at Autrodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, this time for the Busch series, and he finished in 5th place.

Having established himself as a true road course ace, in 2006 Boris Said was signed by Evernham Motorsports to aid them in their road racing program.  The result, In Mexico City, Boris said took the Pole position, and finished in second place. In 2006 he also established his own team, named No Fear Racing, the team utilizes the racing equipment of Roush-Fenway Racing. Another notable for Boris Said in 2006, he amazed everyone at Daytona, and took the Pepsi 400 Bud pole, and finished in fourth place.

Boris would run a total of 8 NASCAR races in 2007, with a best finishing result of 9th place at the Infineon Speedway.
